Works of Robert G. Ingersoll - Vol. 2 of 5 Vols.

Works of R. G. Ingersoll, by J. Ellis Burdick, this is Vol. 2 of 5 Vols. Mr. Burdick took down Mr. Ingersoll's Lectures in shorthand as they were delivered, so these are a little different from the Dresden Edition of his Lectures that was spruced up for publication. Mr. Burdick not only recorded the Lectures as delivered but included remarks from the audience and Ingersoll's replies. Also there is noted other relative activity that takes place; as when a Fire Marshall, in an attempt to prevent the Ingersoll Lecture from taking place, told the owner that the crowd was too large for the number of doors in the building. Mr. Burdick reports: With the owners permission and a few sledge hammers, several men made another door and the lecture went on. Such reporting makes the Lectures come to life, almost like you are there. Well, not really!
