Woman, Church and State

Woman, Church and State, by Matilda Joslin Gage. This is one powerful book, well researched and forceful in its denunciation of the treatment of women by Christianity through the ages. Matilda Joslin Gage was co-author of the first three volumes of 'The History of Woman Suffrage' with Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony, the last two are the most famous women in American History because of their work for Woman's Rights and their right to vote. Yet Ms. Gage was with them, and often more outspoken in her demands for equal justice for women than the others, but she has been removed from her rightful place in the struggle for women. That loss of Historic place is because of this book, this book is a devastating History of Christian treatment of women throughout its long history. We take real pleasure in again bringing this needed book to the public.
