Charles Darwin

CHARLES DL4RWIN by GRANT ALLEN. From the Preface Mr. Grant Allen writes: "I have endeavored to present the life and work of Charles Darwin viewed as a moment in a great revolution, in due relation both to those who went before and to those who come after him." This is a well done Biography of Charles Darwin, set in the time and place where he lived and worked, it includes those who recognized the great advance in science and human progress that his discoveries would bring, and it contains those who fear and oppose progress as a threat to their position, power, and profit. This book was published in 1885, and the same fight goes on today. As long as superstition rules the world, progress will be a bad word.
