The Pillars of Priestcraft and Orthodoxy Shaken, Vol. 3 of 4 Vols. This rare set was published in 1768, and is a collection of earlier pamphlets and articles, some dating back to the late 1400s, and is delightful reading. At that time it was very dangerous to criticizes the Christian religion or any aspect of it, so many of these essays were in praise of Christianity, or of Jesus, but were written in such a way that they simply destroyed the belief they pretended to defend. One, for example, proved that Peter was the first Pope, and that there is a continues line of Popes to that day. So this essay goes through every Pope in order, and listed all the horrible things each Pope did as if they were wonderful moral achievements. These early books has the old print where the s looks like an f, but after a little reading one gets the hang of it and can move right along.
